PSHE

PSHE is considered by the Department for Education to be a non-statutory subject.  As part of its National Curriculum Framework the DfE has stated that 'All schools should make provision for PSHE education, drawing on good practice'.  In order to allow teachers flexibility in its delivery a standardised framework of programme of study has, therefore, not been prescribed.

Effective PSHE makes a significant contribution to the personal development, health and well-being of children.  It is delivered through Wiltshire's 'Learn for Life' scheme.  This is a scheme of work which has been put together by Wiltshire Personal Development Education Team and Wiltshire teachers for children in Year 1 to 6.  If offers an integrated approach to the Social and Emotional Aspects of Learning (SEAL) together with the broader aspects of the PSHE curriculum.  The Scheme incorporates units of work for each term, arranged according to the themes below.

Our school is working towards the Healthy Schools Bronze Award for the work we are doing to encourage healthy lifestyles in our children.
